Obama's new playlist
I know this is something weird to rant about but I feel like this playlist is a good metaphor for modern politics. The playlist has songs that will appeal to literally almost every music fan, minus some extremists such as metal heads. Yet the playlist also manages to totally suck especially if you were to listen to it as a whole.
As a group, it’s pretty shitty. But I was legitimately surprised by the track listings. No Doubt and Green Onions? Hot damn. My first two thoughts were as follows:
- “How long has Obama been harvesting his inner pseudo-hipster?”
- “Where is Adele…? Huh. Top 40 just had a stroke.”
It is just to make him look hip/young, I am sure that he has a focus group to pick out these songs. And yeah the lack of Adele is actually really surprising.
